DUBAI, Dec 7 — A Nickelodeon theme park is in the works that will open in Dubai with rides and attractions featuring SpongeBob SquarePants and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Set to open within the new IMG Worlds of Legends theme park in Dubai, the Nickelodeon-themed zone will feature up to 12 rides. Construction is expected to begin next year and the park set to open in 2019, reports Variety.

IMG Worlds of Adventure theme park is billed as the world’s largest indoor family entertainment venue. Worlds of Legends represents the second phase and expansion of Worlds of Adventure which opened earlier this year.

Other Nickelodeon-branded attractions to open recently include Nickelodeon Hotels and Resorts in Punta Canada; Nickelodeon Lost Lagoon in Malaysia; Nickelodeon Land at Parque de Atracciones de Madrid in Spain; and Nickelodeon Land at Blackpool Pleasure Beach in the UK.

Nickelodeon theme parks in the US include Nickelodeon Universe in Minneapolis’s Mall of America in the US and Nickelodeon attractions at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida and Hollywood. — AFP-Relaxnews
