KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 5 — Music buffs are in for a rare treat as new-age airline Vietjet is bringing the legendary Michael Learns to Rock (MLTR) and iconic Korean superstars, Wonder Girls (WG) to Vietnam for the region’s largest and highly anticipated musical concert — Sky Connection — in celebration of the airline’s 5th Anniversary.
Scheduled at the Quan Khu 7 Stadium in Ho Chi Minh City on December 21, 2016, the concert will see the convergence of multi-generational music idols on the same world stage — a first in Vietnam — showcasing the unique, impressive and inspirational performance styles of two world-leading bands.
Joining the spectacular line up is a joint-performance between Vietnam’s very own leading singer Thu Minh "Sexy Queen” and Son Tung M-TP of Vietnam Idol. Vietnamese top model Thanh Hang, Supermodel Lan Khue and Miss Universe Vietnam Pham Huong are also set to make appearances, promising a truly ‘explosive’ event.
Concert tickets are now exclusively available for booking at skyconnection.vietjetair.com and priced between VND100,000 (US$4/RM18) to VND2,000,000 (US$90). Customers booking their air tickets from November 28 to December 11, 2016 will also stand a chance to win tickets to the Sky Connection concert. The first 50 customers who book Vietjet tickets each day during this period will win two concert tickets per person during the 14-day promotion. MLTR has been winning the hearts of many through its 9 million albums sold throughout the world. Hit songs Sleeping Child, 25 Minutes, Take Me To Your Heart, Out Of The Blue, That’s Why You Go Away, etc, has brought the band much fame and honour in the world’s music rankings.
Meanwhile, Wonder Girls is well-known for its Retro Pop styles, making them one of the most popular Korean music bands in Asia and the world. Their hit songs including Nobody, Tell Me, So Hot, etc have helped the band achieve first time rankings on the Billboard Hot 100. The band’s Retro style which incorporates 20th century-oriented inspirations has made Wonder Girls one of the most recognised bands in this music genre and one of the few to have diligently stayed true to its style despite the change in the music market.
Following the two bands’ glorious achievements, their appearances at the Sky Connection concert is a precious once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for fans and music lovers to enjoy the world-standard musical festival featuring songs that connect the past and the present right in the heart of Vietnam. The event will also feature Vietnam’s top performers and is supported by its media partner IMC Corporation.
