KATHMANDU, Feb 7 — Malaysia’s Malindo Air has started daily scheduled flights on the Kuala Lumpur-Kathmandu-Kuala Lumpur route with a Boeing 737-900ER from yesterday, said a statement of the Yeti Incentive Travels, Malindo Air’s sales agent in Nepal.
The aircraft, with 160 economy class and 12 business class seats, touched runway of the Kathmandu’s Tribhuvan International Airport at 9:30pm Friday and flew back to Kuala Lumpur at 10:20pm the same day, the statement said.
“We are very pleased to bring Malaysians closer to the mountainous range of Annapurna and the Himalayas, the perfect setting for yet another exhilarating destination to discover in Asia, the statement quoted CEO of Malindo Air Chandran Rama Muthy as saying.
“This route reinforces our commitment to provide an affordable yet comfortable option for travel for customers who look for added value and services in their travel plans and believe that Kathmandu being a scenic and attractive holiday destination will be a popular tourist pull for travellers young and old,” it said.
Malindo Air is the third Malaysian airlines to launch flight on Kuala Lumpur-Kathmandu route. The other two are Malaysia Airlines and AirAsia. — Bernama
