LOS ANGELES, Nov 4 — Calling all Canadians named Elizabeth Gallagher: There’s an around-the-world plane ticket with your name on it.

Here’s the backstory: After booking a Christmas holiday with stops in Milan, Prague, Paris and Bangkok, Toronto man Jordan Axani found himself with an extra ticket when he and his girlfriend – who goes by the name Elizabeth Gallagher – broke up.

Instead of seeing the ticket go to waste, the 28-year-old decided to give away the ticket for free on user-generated site Reddit – an item that’s gone viral around the world since being posted November 2.

The hitch: Takers have to share the name as his ex-girlfriend and hold a Canadian passport.

The trip begins in New York December 21, before moving on to Milan, Prague, Paris, Bangkok and New Delhi.

Within a day of being posted, the item has already generated a response from a woman claiming to fit the criteria (after the name and passport requirement, Axani’s first priority is that the recipient be “sane, smart and (hopefully) interesting.”

And though the woman says she’s “old enough to be his mom” with daughters aged 25 and 23, fellow Reddit users are encouraging her to take up the offer.

“Get in touch with him girl! Post your experience and share [it] with us... At our age we owe it to ourselves to have an adventure. Go!” wrote one of several supporters.

According to his Twitter account, many more Elizabeth Gallaghers have come forward since Sunday.

For Axani, age makes no difference either, as he says he’s looking for nothing in return.

“I am not looking for companionship, romance, drugs, a trade, or to take selfies with you in front [of] the Christmas Market in Prague. If you feel compelled to toss me a couple hundred bucks, great. Really the only thing I ask for is that you enjoy this trip and that it bring you happiness,” he writes.

“We can travel together and see some cool stuff — or not. I’m easy and have no problem with someone taking the tickets and doing their own thing (see ya on the plane!). Embracing the spontaneity of life is more my thing, though, so if you want to travel together (and are not an axe murder) I’m likely game.”

The once-in-a-lifetime offer has gone viral around the world and has been picked up on media sites in Australia, England, the US and the Netherlands.
