KUALA LUMPUR, May 20 — Hybrid airline Malindo Air is giving away free seats for one-way travel, with only the airport tax to be charged, for its new service from Subang to Batam commencing on May 28.

“The promotion is applicable for travel from May 28 to June 29, 2014 and is available for booking from now until May 31,” the airline said in a statement today.

The airline will offer three times weekly flights to Batam with flight OD304, which departs from Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport Subang (SZB) at 11.00 am every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.

The aircraft arrives at Hang Nadim International Airport (BTH) at 11.20 am Indonesian time. The return trip on flight OD303 departs from Batam at 11.50 am and arrives in Subang at 2.10 pm local time, Malindo Air said.

Chief Executive Officer Chandran Rama Muthy said the latest service is in line with its target of securing a larger network in the Asian region.

“Batam is a great choice if you’re looking for a quick getaway overseas.

Travellers could enjoy all Batam has to offer as a famous holiday spot, and yet still be able to stick to a tight budget,” he added.
