NEW YORK, May 12 — Travellers looking to book their summer accommodations may want to take a look at a newly released listing of the top-ranked properties on Booking.com.

Like TripAdvisor’s annual reader’s choice awards, online reservation site Booking.com has curated lists of the top accommodations as rated by customer reviews.

To make the top 10 cut, accommodations had to have a minimum of 50 reviews from the past 14 months. Reviews were then vetted for scores in categories such as staff, comfort, service, cleanliness, location and value for money.

Traveling on your own and looking for a clean, safe, and affordable hotel? According to users of Booking.com, the best property for solo travellers is the centrally located Granada Old Town Hostel in Granada, Spain, highly ranked for its bright, airy, well-maintained rooms and friendly property owners.

Meanwhile, the top-ranked accommodation in North America may come as a surprise as it’s located in maritime Canada, in the capital of New Brunswick.

Quartermain House Bed & Breakfast in Fredericton was given a near perfect score of 9.9 for offering “extreme luxury at a very reasonable price.”

Lists are divided into accommodation type (hotels, apartments, villas, B&Bs, resorts and hostels); region (North and South America, Oceania, Europe, South America, Middle East, Africa); and traveller type (solo, couples, families, groups).
