AirAsia connects Singapore to Kuala Terengganu, three times weekly

KUALA LUMPUR, April 22 — AirAsia today received its maiden flight from Singapore to Kuala Terengganu, marking the low-cost carrier’s first international destination from the East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia.

In a statement today, AirAsia said the direct flights, every Today, Thursday and Saturday, connect Singapore to Kuala Terengganu.

“The guests on the inaugural flight AK 902 from Singapore were received and greeted by Terengganu State Tourism and Culture Committee Chairman, Datuk Mohd Jidin Shafee, and AirAsia Bhd’s Commercial Head, Spencer Lee, upon arrival at the Sultan Mahmud Airport, Kuala Terengganu,” it said.

Lee said with ‘Visit Malaysia Year 2014’ going on, this new direct route would provide the best opportunity for tourists to discover the various attractions that Terengganu has to offer The flight is AirAsia’s only international route from Kuala Terengganu, and the sole airline to connect Singapore directly to Kuala Terengganu. — Bernama
