LONDON, Jan 22 — Air travellers passing through Frankfurt, London Gatwick and Antalya last year had an above-average chance of experiencing flight delays, according to a ranking established by Refund.me. Users of the site reported more delayed flights in these three locations than in any other European airports during 2013.

The website, which specialises in travellers’ rights, cites Frankfurt and London again in its ranking of European airports with the highest number of flight cancellations last year. This time, London Heathrow Airport earns the dubious first place distinction, followed by Munich’s Franz Josef Strauss Airport in second and the Frankfurt Airport in third.

Paris Charles de Gaulle is also among the airports listed in both of these rankings, in 10th place for delays and 4th place for cancellations.

The two rankings were established using Refund.me’s data based on claims for cancellations in 394 airports and claims for delays in 419 airports. – AFP/Relaxnews
