JOHOR BARU, Nov 9 — Tourism minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Nazri Aziz is confident that Malaysia could achieve its target of more than 26.8 million tourists this year.

He attributed this to the creation of high profile and international standard tourism products.

The family-oriented lure that caters to all age groups is located at Iskandar Malaysia where the Johor Premium Outlet, Legoland Theme Park, Puteri Harbour Theme Park, Sanrio Hello Kitty Town and Lat’s Place (restaurant) await visitors.

“The statistics on visitor arrival to the state is very encouraging and an extraordinary leap since the introduction of the new products,” he said at the

Malaysia Deepavali 2013 Open House launched by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak at Dataran Bandaraya tonight.

According to Nazri, Malaysia, particularly Johor’s main tourism market is Singapore at 94 per cent, followed by China, Indonesia, Middle East, Japan, Australia, United Kingdom, Brunei, Philippines and India.

He said Malaysia was recently listed by Lonely Planet as one of 10 main destinations to visit in 2014. — Bernama
