LOS ANGELES, Sept 25 — Short-term vacation rental service Airbnb has tapped a roster of Tinseltown celebrities like James Franco, Moby and Molly Sims to help launch a series of pop-up events that aim to highlight the best of Los Angeles.
Between September 27 and October 1, a handful of the city’s most iconic destinations including the Viper Room and The Arts District will be turned into pop-up venues that celebrate the most interesting people, places and experiences in the City of Angels.
At the Hollywood Forever Cemetery, James Franco will take visitors on a “nostalgic journey through Hollywood history.”
At The Viper Room, DJ/singer-songwriter Moby will host a pop-up house music event where he’ll also play unreleased tracks from his latest album “Innocents.”
And model-actress Molly Sims will host an Old Hollywood party at The Grove that revives the glamour of Tinseltown with lawn games and special performances.
“We wanted our introduction to LA to be a love letter to a larger-than-life city, made of eclectic, creative people across a diverse cultural and geographical landscape,” said Airbnb marketing VP Amy Curtis-McIntyre.
“By sourcing local creatives on every level — from the dynamic celebrity partners to local designers, artists and tastemakers — Hello LA creates an inside track for Angelenos to discover the most interesting experiences within their community.”
Fans can win overnight stays at the venues and gain VIP access to the celebrity events by submitting short blurbs on why they love Los Angeles on the site’s Facebook page. — AFP-Relaxnews
