BARCELONA, March 2 — Who ya gonna call?

Well, no one — not if you’re too busy playing the new augmented reality Ghostbusters game on your smartphone.

Looking to emulate the success of games like Pokémon Go, gamers strap on a virtual proton pack to catch ghosts that appear to be floating in the real-world.

It’s being demoed as part of Google’s ARCore stall at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

The tech giant told Reuters it has big plans for augmented reality.

"ARCore is a developer platform for augmented reality on Android. And the idea is you can build delightful experiences, some of the ones like you see behind me; Snapchat filters where you can go inside a stadium, Ghostbusters, and many many more... And so we’re very excited to bring it to 100-million phones starting now at Mobile World Congress and many more later,” Amit Singh, vice president of business and operations for Google VR and AR, said.

AR game Ghostbusters World is still under development, but it’s due to launch on both Android and iOS devices later this year. — Reuters
