Top iPhone apps: ‘Bitmoji,’ ‘PUBG: Exhilarating Battlefield’

NEW YORK, Feb 16 — Two official mobile versions of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds launch in China, with the game’s more literal interpretation proving more popular for now at least, and international fans finding ways to download the app for their own devices, while the new range of Bitmoji Deluxe emojis ensure Bitmoji stays top of the free iPhone app charts in the USA, UK, France, the Netherlands and Australia come February 15, 2018.

Snapchat-owned photo alteration and avatar creation suite that allows users to create custom emojis—small cartoon images depicting a range of emotions and reactions. A new avatar style, Bitmoji Deluxe, was introduced in a January 31 update, with 100 new hairstyles and treatments, plus new colors for accessories, makeup palettes, and skin tones. Supplementary packs of emoji-enhancing props are available from RM$0.99 (RM3.85).

One of two official Chinese mobile editions of PC and Xbox player-versus-player action survival hit PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, both of which launched February 8. This one sticks more closely to the original version while PUBG: Army Attack (绝地求生 全军出击) appears to contain more mobile-friendly tweaks—though is currently the less popular of the pair.
