KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 14 — The official pricing for the latest iPhone models has been released on Apple’s website, though only the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus are available for preorder. While the iPhone X’s price has been revealed, no release date has been announced.
The new iPhones now only come in two storage capacities: 64GB and 256GB. This is a departure from the usual three storage options for newly released phones.
Of the three models, the iPhone X is the most expensive at RM5,149 for the 64GB model and RM5,899 for the 256GB variant. The phone also comes in two colour options, namely Space Gray and Silver. In contrast, the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus offer the same two colours plus a Gold option.
Local telcos (Celcom, Maxis, Digi, U Mobile) have already started preorders for the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. The smaller iPhone 8 will retail for RM3,649 and RM4399 for the 64GB and 256GB version respectively while the iPhone 8 Plus is priced at RM4,149 for the 64GB version and RM4,899 for the 256GB edition.
While all phones will feature a new glass back that allows for wireless charging as well as the advanced A11 Bionic processor, only the iPhone X will come with Apple’s first Oled screen and a TrueDepth front camera that will allow for facial recognition.
The iPhone 8 and 8 Plus will officially go on sale Friday, October 20.
