Dating site for beautiful people hacked, account information sold by hackers

NEW YORK, April 26 — Another dating website got hacked, namely BeautifulPeople.com, a site known for beng strict with its standards of attractiveness. It was also known for culling members deemed not attractive enough for the website. 

Forbes reported that the leak compromised not just names and email addresses, but perhaps up to 15 million private messages. Around 1.1 million users are likely to be affected.

What happens to the data hacked? From reports it seems the data is being traded and sold thus anyone likely to be affected will have to expect that their privacy online has been severely compromised.

Another high-profile website leak was the Ashley Madison website created for people who wanted to cheat on their spouses, creating a lot of embarassment and apparently even causing a few of its outed users to commit suicide.
