NEW YORK, March 15 — With less than a week till Apple is set to unveil its new iPhone, more rumours have been circulating online including that of supposedly leaked pictures of the new model.
The leaked images of the supposed iPhone 7 is said to have been shared by France-based tech site NowhereElse.fr. The images shared appear to be that of the iPhone 7’s backplate and it can be seen as an image on a computer screen.
According to the Telegraph, the images suggest that the iPhone 7 will feature redesigned plastic antenna strips, a thinner body and a slimline camera flush with the body.
The case appears to limit the plastic antenna strips, which are necessary for sending and receiving signal in order to make calls, to the upper edge and bottom edge of the handset. In the most recent iPhone 6s cycle, the strips stretch the width of the model.
According to BGR, these leaked pictures seem to corroborate a previous report which indicated that Apple was planning to remove the antenna lines on the back of the iPhone 7 while maintaining them “at the sides and around the top and bottom edges…”
Today, Taiwanese site Apple.club.tw also apparently shared images of a dual-camera module potentially destined for the iPhone 7, reports Macrumors.com.
Appleinsider.com adds that the image shows one lens appears to have a larger diameter than the other and two short flex cables extend from the bottom of the module, presumably to connect to a logic board.
Given Apple’s secrecy on its new devices, it’s really hard to say whether these leaked images are indeed real. We’ll just have to wait for Apple’s big reveal on March 21 to find out.
This first glimpse of the new iPhone 7 comes from French site Nowhereelse.fr.
