SEOUL, Feb 15 — LG just announced its new X-series midrange phones. The first two models are making their debut at the upcoming Mobile World Congress in Barcelona this Feb 22.

The company is positioning the phones as being for those who don’t want “all the bells and whistles” but are happy enough with a good camera or display.

As for the phone models, LG has dubbed them the X cam and the X screen. The X cam comes with dual rear cameras and a thickness of just 5.2mm, weighing 118g.

For the X screen, LG has given it not dual cameras but a second screen that sits above the main display. This 1.76-inch screen will allow users to answer calls, access popular apps and check phone status and notifcations.

The phones are due to debut in Asia, Europe and Latin America from next month.
