LOS ANGELES, Dec 8 — “Grand Theft Auto” vaults above “Fallout 4” on Steam during a Game Awards sale, December 7^th’s GamersGate chart is stuffed with “Company of Heroes 2” entries, and the co-developer of “The Stanley Parable” presents a new game in “Dr. Langeskov, The Tiger, And The Terribly Cursed Emerald: A Whirlwind Heist”.

Sales on GameStop’s site push “Sid Meier’s Civilization V” and access to post-release content from “Dark Souls II” and “Dragonball Xenoverse” back into the top 5, while the Humble Store opened up pre-orders for 2016’s “Far Cry Primal” and marked the occasion with a sale on previous games in the series.

Over on GamersGate, various entries to the “Company of Heroes 2” catalog enjoyed the boost in popularity that a well-timed sale can bring.

In this instance, the game and its add-ons had featured in Humble Bundle Monthly’s $12 subscription bundle for December; this GamersGate promotion provided a different way to acquire the “Company of Heroes 2” materials at reduced cost.

On Itchio, three newer releases bustle into the top 5.

“WolfQuest” is a solo or online multiplayer game about the life of a two-year-old gray wolf in Yellowstone Park; each play of “Orchids to Dusk” offers a few minutes as an astronaut on an alien planet; “Dr. Langeskov...” is a 15-minute heist game from a team led by “The Stanley Parable” writer and level designer William Pugh.

The former debuts at US$10 (RM42), while the latter two are priced on a pay-what-you-want basis; “Dr. Langeskov...” is free on Steam, gleaning a 93 per cent positive user review rating after a December 4^th release.
