LOS ANGELES, Dec 4 — Online streaming service Vimeo is starting to implement 4K video across its entire user base from December 3, 2015.
The staged rollout began with 4K for Pro members in 2014 and the ultra high definition video format is being made more widely available.
Both 4K and adaptive bitrate streaming are being introduced to a small subset of users from December 3, with the early months of 2016 seeing the technologies extending to everyone else, reports Variety.
It means that 4K video playback will be accessible from Vimeo.com and through Vimeo embeds, as well as via iOS and Apple TV apps, with Amazon TV, Roku and Android platforms to join in the near future.
