LAS VEGAS, Jan 10 — Earning best in show in the sports and fitness category at this week's Consumer Electronics Show is the fitness tracker-cum-smartwatch hybrid Razer Nabu.
The Nabu features two OLED screens, including a 32-pixel square display that will show notification icons, and a bigger 128 x 32 pixel screen that can list text messages, emails and other data. The band tracks fitness activities, calories burned, sleep, location, and altitude, and users can analyse all that data on the companion iOS and Android app. The device will offer 7 to 10 days of battery life on a single charge, for a retail price of less than US$100. However, the consumer launch date is not available. Earning best in show in the wearable tech category is the Pebble Steel Smartwatch, the second generation of its signature fitness-tracking device. Made of stainless steel, the new smartwatch will be sold at a price that defies all competition: US$249, with shipping to any destination included. The first Pebble Steel smartwatches will ship on January 28, just as Pebble launches its own app downloading platform. Health-related devices winning best in show in the home category include the Kolibree Connected Toothbrush and the Withings Aura Wake-up Light. — AFP-Relaxnews
