SAN FRANCISCO, Oct 18 — Just after the release of the first major Windows 8 update, Facebook has presented its first native app for Microsoft’s latest OS.

Facebook developed the app specifically with the Windows 8.1 interface in mind.

All of the features and functions of the world’s largest social network are available, from the newsfeed to photo uploads, status updates and chat.

The new app is free, although it can only be installed on devices that have already installed the Windows 8.1 update. The app is currently available only in English.
