LOS ANGELES, Sept 9 — Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max and its first foldable iPhone at its “Surprise and Shine” keynote happening at 1am on 10th September Malaysian Time.
However, it looks like there won’t not be much surprises left when it comes to the hardware design.
Ahead of the launch, accessory makers including dbrand and Spigen have already started promoting cases for Apple’s upcoming devices, which provides us one of the clearest looks yet at the new iPhones.
Dbrand openly lists iPhone Ultra, iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max
Just a day before launch, dbrand has published dedicated product page for its iPhone Ultra Grip Case as well as other accessory options for the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max.
The product listings come with complete with renders showing the devices fitted with its cases in various angles and it matches what was leaked previously for the new foldable device.
As leaked previously, the upcoming iPhone foldable device features a raised large rectangular camera module at the rear with rounded corners and it houses two cameras.
For better coverage, the cases not only protects the rear and front panels, but it also covers the spine for better protection against accidental drops.
dbrand has also listed several cases for the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, including its Grip, Ghost and Tank cases.
Spigen teases case for Apple’s foldable iPhone
Besides dbrand, Spigen has also started teasing accessories for Apple’s first foldable iPhone.
The case maker posted images and video on X showing a clear case fitted to a book-style foldable smartphone. While Spigen does not explicitly name the device, it is very obvious that they are referring to Apple’s upcoming foldable.
Similar to dbrand, the new case offers front, rear and side protections and they even showed off a clip mechanism which holds both panels in place when the iPhone is unfolded.
First Apple event under John Ternus as CEO
This will also be Apple’s first iPhone keynote under new CEO John Ternus, following Tim Cook’s departure from the role.
Apple is expected to introduce the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max during the event, while the standard iPhone 18 is expected to be announced only in 2027.
With the current global RAM shortage, expect Apple to increase the starting price for its new iPhone across the board. We’ve seen the impacts of the RAMageddon with the recent Mac mini and Mac Studio launch.
The biggest star of the show would be the new foldable device which has been widely referred to as the iPhone Ultra.
Since Malaysia is among Apple’s first-wave countries, the iPhone 18 Pro could arrive locally as early as the end of next week and pre-orders are expected to open as early as this Friday.
The full details will be revealed early tomorrow morning during the Apple keynote. — SoyaCincau
