KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 1 ― Instagram users are currently reporting issues logging in to their accounts, saying that the social media network has suspended their accounts without reason. A message greeting them upon trying to log in reads: "We suspended your account on October 31, 2022.” Quite a spooky way to end Halloween, eh?

According to The Verge, the issue seems to be mostly affecting iPhone users, with some saying that their app has been crashing and rendered unusable ahead of an update earlier today. I too had an issue logging in a few hours ago, with the app saying that "the username you entered does not belong to an account,” although thankfully my account did not end up being suspended.

Those that did get to log in have noticed their follower counts dropping as scores of users ended up being suspended. The article notes that footballer Cristiano Ronaldo’s account lost a whopping three million of the 493 million followers he had just yesterday.

Instagram has confirmed the issue on Twitter, adding that it is looking into the issue and apologised for any inconvenience. ― SoyaCincau
