ALOR SETAR, Nov 3 — Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor has retained the presidency of Kedah Darul Aman Football Association (KFA) after winning uncontested for the 2026–2030 term.

State Consumer Affairs and Cost of Living, Youth and Sports Committee chairman Muhamad Radhi Mat Din also won uncontested for the deputy president’s post at the KFA executive committee elections, held during the association’s 51st annual congress at Wisma Darul Aman yesterday.

Three candidates were elected as vice-presidents: Datuk Kamil Din, Datuk Zuraidi Rahim and Datuk Syed Yussof Syed Othman.

Gurun state assemblyman Baddrol Bakhtiar, Rozaimi Abd Rahim, Mohd Aizad Roslan, Safwan Hanif Shafie, Beh Ying Shen, P. Sithambaram, Idzham Nordin and Abd Ra’uf Ibrahim were elected as executive committee members, while Nor Syafini Chik Buang was elected as women’s executive committee member.

Meanwhile, Sanusi said every portfolio must have a clear direction and measurable key performance indicators (KPIs) for the new term, along with short- and long-term action plans.

“These posts are not merely positions. They are a mandate to deliver results and achievements that benefit the association.

“This congress is not just about fulfilling the association’s annual requirements. It is the highest platform for assessing administrative capability, strengthening unity and charting the future direction of Kedah football,” he said in a social media post.

He said KFA’s maturity, spanning more than a century, should not be measured by its years of establishment alone, but must be proven through efficient governance, stronger strategic ties, financial discipline and the impact of development programmes.

“The leadership’s responsibility is to ensure the entire state football ecosystem moves within a structured framework, from grassroots development to high-performance competition.

“I call on the entire leadership entrusted with the 2026–2030 term, along with affiliate members and strategic partners, to make this plan a shared commitment carried out with full responsibility,” he said. — Bernama
