KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 19 —The aspiration of the country’s top men’s doubles pair, Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik, to secure a double title for Malaysia at the Denmark Open yesterday fell short as they succumbed to the Indonesian duo, Fajar Alfian and Muhammad Shohibul Fikri today.

In the final match held at the SJ Bank Arena in Odense, the Malaysian pair was defeated 8-21, 11-21 in a contest lasting 31 minutes.

This marks the third time the Malaysian pair have lost to the Indonesian duo in their five previous encounters.

Earlier, the national women’s doubles pair brought joy to badminton fans back home by clinching the Denmark Open title after defeating the Japanese pair of Hinata Suzuki and Nao Yamakita. — Bernama
