ROME, Sept 12 — Argentinian teenager Franco Mastantuono scored a hat-trick on Friday as Fiorentina earned their first points of the Serie A season with a 4-2 win at fellow strugglers Venezia.
Fiorentina, who had been winless and last in Serie A, rehired Paolo Vanoli on Monday to replace Fabio Grosso, who was sacked after losing his first three matches.
And in a clash between two sides who had yet to register a point this season, Nigerian Akor Adams got hosts Venezia off the mark after 22 minutes.
But 19-year-old Mastantuono, who is on loan from Real Madrid, scored twice within a minute on the half-hour mark for his first Serie A goals.
Mateo Pellegrino came off the bench after an hour and found the net six minutes later before Mastantuono completed his hat-trick after 84 minutes.
French midfielder Antoine Hainaut pulled a second back for Venezia with four minutes to go.
Fiorentina moved up to 15th as Venezia dropped to last place, with both clubs having conceded 11 goals in their first four matches. — AFP
