WARSAW, Aug 27 — The president of Poland’s Olympic Games committee (PKOI) was arrested Thursday as part of a corruption inquiry, a judicial source told AFP.
Radoslaw Piesiewicz is suspected of receiving kickbacks from awarding PKOI sponsoring contracts, which were paid via the Zondacrypto digital currency platform, which the Polish government accuses of having links to nationalist opposition groups, organised crime and the Russian secret services. — AFP
