KUALA LUMPUR, July 1 — National mixed doubles player Toh Ee Wei had successfully undergone surgery on her left knee in Melbourne, Australia, following the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury she sustained during last month’s Singapore Open.
The Badminton Association Malaysian (BAM) today said the procedure was completed successfully yesterday and Ee Wei would now focus on her rehabilitation and recovery.
“BAM will continue to provide Ee Wei with the necessary medical and rehabilitation support throughout her recovery and wish the mixed doubles player every success in her journey back to competition,” the statement said.
Meanwhile, Ee Wei in the same statement also thanked everyone who had reached out with messages of encouragement over the past few weeks.
“I am relieved that the surgery went well and would like to thank everyone for the overwhelming support and well wishes. It means a lot to me.
“My focus now is on my rehabilitation, and I will give my full commitment to the recovery process. I look forward to returning to the court stronger,” she said.
Previously, BAM confirmed that Ee Wei suffered the injury during the Singapore Open 2026 quarter-finals in May. — Bernama
