Malaysia’s Hakim Danish battles from 17th to 12th in gutsy Moto3 Portugal GP ride

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 10 — Young Malaysian rider Muhammad Hakim Danish finished the Moto3 Portugal Grand Prix (GP) in 12th place at the Algarve International Circuit yesterday.

The 18-year-old, who raced for FRINSA MT Helmets MSi replacing injured Japanese rider Ryusei Yamanaka, put up a good fight even though he began the race in 17th place on the starting grid.

The race was won by Maximo Quiles (CFMOTO Gaviota Aspar Team) with a time of 34 minutes 05.182 seconds (s), FRINSA MT Helmets MSi rider Angel Piqueras was second (+1.663s), while Honda Team Asia rider Taiyo Furusato was third (+2.886s).

Hakim Danish will also take part in the final Moto3 race of the season, the Valencia GP this weekend. — Bernama
