KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 17 — National women’s doubles pair Ong Xin Yee-Carmen Ting's journey in the Denmark Open came to an end at the hands of South Korea’s Kim Hye Jeong-Kong Hee Yong in the second round in Odense on Thursday.

Despite having a great start, Xin Yee-Carmen ran out of steam as they fell 21-19, 10-21, 7-21 to the third seeds in 57 minutes during the Super 750 tournament at the Jyske Bank Arena.

In the quarter-finals later today, Hye Jeong-Hee Yong will meet compatriots Jeong Na Eun-Lee Yeon Woo, who ousted Hsu Yin-Hui-Lin Jhih Yun of Taiwan 21-11, 17-21, 21-7

Malaysia will now rely on reigning mixed doubles world champions Chen Tang Jie-Toh Ee Wei for a place in the semi-finals when they take on professional duo Goh Soon Huat-Shevon Lai Jemie in an all-Malaysian quarter-final clash.

Professional men’s doubles pair Nur Mohd Azriyn Ayub-Tan Wee Kiong will also be in action today, but they face a tough task as they will be up against fifth seeds Liang Wei Keng-Wang Chang of China. — Bernama
