PETALING JAYA, Oct 15 — Malaysia’s top men’s doubles pair Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik suffered a first-round exit at the Denmark Open today after losing in straight games to Indonesia’s newly formed pair, Muhammad Rian Ardianto and Rahmat Hidayat.

As reported by Free Malaysia Today (FMT), the unseeded Indonesian duo, playing together for the first time in an international tournament, defeated the world No. 2 Malaysians 21-17, 21-13 in just 33 minutes at Arena Fyn in Odense, Denmark.

The defeat marked the fourth time this year that Chia and Soh have been eliminated in the opening round of a major tournament. They were runners-up at the Arctic Open in Finland.

Last year, the Olympic bronze medallists reached the quarter-finals of the Denmark Open but failed to advance further.
