KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 15 — Former National Sports Council (NSC) deputy director-general (strategic) Suhardi Alias has been appointed as the new Sports Commissioner (PJS), effective today.
The appointment of Suhardi, who replaces Ibrahim Mohd Yusof, was announced by the Sports Commissioner’s Office via a Facebook post.
Youth and Sports Minister Hannah Yeoh also congratulated him on the appointment.
Meanwhile, the NSC posted on Facebook its appreciation for the services Suhardi had contributed for over 30 years.
Suhardi is said to have held various posts, including National Sports Association Rating Committee member with the Olympic Council of Malaysia in 2009, chairman and pioneer of the National Sports Management course and the person who drafted the National Sports Science course, of which he is also an instructor.
He was also involved in preparing the National Sports Industry Road Map and National Sports Vision 2030. — Bernama
