KUALA TERENGGANU, June 13 — The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) paid a courtesy call to Terengganu Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar at his official residence in Seri Iman here today.
The FAM delegation was led by its president Datuk Hamidin Mohd Amin and his two deputies, Datuk Mohd Yusoff Mahadi and Datuk S. Sivasundaram, and was in conjunction with the two Teir 1 friendly matches between the Harimau Malaya squad and the Solomon Islands tomorrow and Papua New Guinea on June 20, which will take place at Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Stadium, Kuala Nerus.
Hamidin said that the matches would bring local football fans, especially those in the East Coast, closer to the national squad, and help foster closer ties between FAM and its associates.
"I, along with the FAM fraternity as well as the national squad thank Terengganu, which has been a great help during our time here,” he posted on the official FAM Facebook page today.
Terengganu Youth and Sports Committee chairman Wan Sukairi Wan Abdullah; Terengganu State Football Association deputy president Datuk Marzuki Sulong; Terengganu state secretary Datuk Tengku Farok Hussin Tengku Abdul Jalil and Terengganu Football Club (TFC) Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Ab Rasid Jusoh were also present during the visit. — Bernama
