KOTA BARU, April 9 — Kelantan FC have appointed technical director Frank Bernhardt as the team’s new head coach to replace South Korean Choi Moon-sik.

"It is hoped that this appointment will propel TRW Kelantan FC to greater heights," Kelantan FC said in a statement on their Facebook today.

Bernhardt, who hails from Kiel, Germany, was formerly chief coach of the national Under-23 squad and UiTM FC and technical director of Estonia FA (2007-2012) and Azerbaijan FA (2014-2017).

Last Tuesday, Kelantan FC sprang a surprise by resting Moon-sik and appointing assistant head coach Rezal Zambery Yahya as interim coach less than an hour before the start of their match against Terengganu at Stadium Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin in Kuala Nerus.

Kelantan FC are second last in the Super League table with four points after seven matches. — Bernama
