IPOH, April 5 — Perak FC coach Datuk Lim Teong Kim was bitterly disappointed that his team lost 0-5 at home last night.
Perak FC were humiliated by Johor Darul Takzim FC (JDT) and conceded as early as the 5th minute of the match in addition to gifting JDT a penalty kick and Teong Kim himself being shown a yellow card.
He said the referee’s decisions and injuries to key players, who could not be brought on, affected the momentum of his team’s game.
"We could see what happened on the pitch and I’m really disappointed...all I’m asking for is fair play.
"I will review the match and will probably lodge complaints to the Malaysian Football League (MFL) and the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) regarding the quality of the refereeing in the entire match against JDT,” he said at a press conference after the Super League match at the Perak Stadium here.
The former assistant coach of Bayern Munich’s Under-19 (U-19) team continues to be plagued by disappointment following his line-up showing a performance full of errors after missing several key players due to injuries.
"If you were to ask me the extent of the injuries to the key players, I can say it is a bit worrying but we also had to include them in the last minutes of the game.
"Honestly, tonight’s (last night’s) 5-0 defeat is very bitter pill to swallow because for me even if we lose 3-0 it’s bad enough, what more losing 5-0,” he said.
JDT head coach, Esteban Solari said he was satisfied with his team’s performance and that they did a great job.
"The team knows how to play, believe in our quality, for me this win was a reward to the players.
"Every game for us is to improve the quality of our game because for me it’s not easy to score five goals, we need to tighten our defence and give full concentration on the field,” he said. — Bernama
