IPOH, June 1 — A total of RM225 million has been allocated for organising the XIX Malaysia Games (Sukma) scheduled from Sept 12 to 22.

Perak Menteri Besar, Ahmad Faizal Azumu said from the total, RM160 million was allocated for the construction of infrastructure while RM65 million would be utilised for the Games.

He said the state government had also received RM4.02 million from the private sector in form of item sponsorships and cash.

 "I hope more companies will come forward to help make the Perak Sukma a great success,” he told reporters at the Menteri Besar’s office in Bangunan Perak Darul Ridzuan here today.

Earlier Ahmad Faizal received a contribution for RM100,000 from Syarikat KL Teh Land.

Meanwhile, State Youth, Sports and Human Capital Development Committee chairman Howard Lee Chuan How said contributors for Sukma would enjoy tax relief, media publicity as well as special invitation to the Games. — Bernama
