Football Malaysia LLP seals partnership with Spanish La Liga

JOHOR BAHRU, Jan 19 — Football Malaysia Limited Liability Partnership (FMLLP) today signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with La Liga to boost the development of football in the country.

The MoU for three years would involve the development of the Malaysia League in the long term.

FMLLP chairman and president of the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim said the cooperation covered every aspect of football in the country.

"This is a long term football development plan and I am confident the cooperation would assist our country achieve greater success in future,” Tunku Ismail told reporters after signing the MoU on behalf of FMLLP here today.

The discussions between FMLLP and La Liga began four months ago on information exchange, sharing experience and skills to raise the level of football in both countries.

"Both sides will share information and experience as well as organise seminars on professional leagues and management of clubs especially in marketing which is also an agenda in the agreement,” he said.

Through the agreement, La Liga will pave the way for its players to play in Malaysia as well as to organise matches with La Liga teams during pre-season. — Bernama
