KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 16 — The FA of Selangor (FAS) cannot use the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil as the home stadium for the Selangor team during the 2018 M-League season, said FA of Malaysia president Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim.

In a statement issued by FAM here today, Tunku Ismail, who is also Tunku Makhota Johor (TMJ), said a study done by the stadium’s management and Football Malaysia Limited Liability Partnership (FMLLP) showed that it was not possible for the 33-time Malaysia Cup champions to use the stadium in total during the 2018 season,

As such, he urged FAS to use the Selayang Stadium as the home stadium instead.

The matter cropped up because Selangor’s home stadium the Shah Alam Stadium is undergoing repairs.

The last time the Super League team used the National Stadium as its home stadium was during the 2012 season when the Shah Alam Stadium was also undergoing repairs. — Bernama
