KUCHING, Oct 29 — Sarawak who have been relegated to the Premier League next season are still harbouring hopes that they can be in top flight action next season..

Their final match in this season against T-Team last night ended in a goalless draw which left them in second place from the bottom. Sarawak and Penang, who finished in last place were relegated to the Premier League.

However, team manager Datuk Posa Majais told Bernama that they were hoping that the FA of Malaysia would proceed with the plans to have 14 teams in the Super League next season.

"If that format is implemented, Sarawak will stay in the Super League,” he said.

On another note, he said the contract of the players ends at the end of November and that a full review would done to decide whether to extend their contracts or otherwise.

Meanwhile, the squad’s chief coach Pengiran Bala , who took from David Usop with the team having six matches left to play (this season), voiced his intention to continue but left it to the FA of Sarawak to determine his fate. — Bernama
