NILAI, Aug 29 — Malaysia's cycling team have qualified for the men's team pursuit final after recording the fastest time of 4 minutes 09.999 seconds.
The team comprising Eiman Firdaus Mohd Zamri, Irwandie Lakasek, Mohd Nur Aiman Mohd Zariff and Mohd Afiq Huzni Othman also broke the national record of 4:14.359s set by them during the Asian Cycling Championships (ACC) in New Delhi in February.
The national riders would go head-to-head with Thailand in the gold deciding race while Indonesia will fight for the bronze with Singapore.
Earlier, the Thailand team of Sarawut Sirironnachai, Yuttana Mano, Thurakit Boonratanathanakorn, and Navuti Liphongyu recorded a time of 4:15.441s to finish second out of five teams.
Indonesia clocked a time of 4:28.631s while Singapore finished the race in 4:35.246 to qualify for the fourth place. — Bernama
