KOTA KINABALU, April 8 ― State football associations (FAs) should ensure the pitches for Super or Premier League matches as well as stadium facilities meet the stipulated conditions, said Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) president Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim.

He said even though FAM has received views and proposals to upgrade stadiums, state FAs should look for the allocation to implement them.

"However, priority should be given on the quality of the field above others for league matches,” he said when met by reporters after inspecting the Likas Stadium here today.

The Johor Tunku Mahkota, who was accompanied by Sabah Assistant Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Masiung Banah and Sabah State Sports Board chairman Datuk Louis Rampas, said he would also be visiting stadiums in other states.

He spent about 40 minutes visiting the stadium used for Premier League matches. Earlier, Tunku Ismail had chaired his first meeting of the 2017-2021 FAM executive committee and also attended a session with state football fans. ― Bernama
