KUALA LUMPUR, March 9 ― National divers Pandelela Rinong and Cheong Jun Hoong secured the bronze medal in the second leg of the FINA Diving World Series held in Guangzhou, China today.

The pair accumulated 332.46 points after five round of dives to finish third in the women's 10m synchronised platform event of the competition held at Swimming Natatorium, Olympic Sports Centre, according to International Swimming Federation (FINA) in their website.

Hosts China continued their domination after Chang Yani/Ren Qian retained the gold medal they won in the first leg in Beijing after scoring 347.82 points while the North Korean pair of Kim Kuk Hyang/Kim Mi Rae grabbed the silver with 339.72 points.

For the record, Pandelela/Cheong claimed the silver in the same event in the first leg, last week.

Another Malaysian pair, Nur Dhabitah Sabri and Wendy Ng Yan Yee will take part in the women's 10m synchronised springboard event later today. ― Bernama
