Diver Yan Yee fails to make Beijing final

KUALA LUMPUR, March 4 — National diver Ng Yan Yee failed to advance to the final of the 3m woman's springboard event after finishing in fourth place in the first semifinal round of the Fina World Diving Championship Series in Beijing, China.

According to Fina's official website, Ng only recorded 280.50 points at Watercube Beijing, today.

Only three of the five best divers from each semifinal round can qualify for the final.

The six divers who qualified were Yani Chang of China, Maddison Keeney (Australia), Katherine Torrance (Britain), Esther Qin (Australia), Jennifer Abel (Canada) and Tingmao Shi (China).

For the record, at the same championship yesterday national diving pair, Pandelela Rinong and Cheong Jun Hoong, won the silver medal in the women's 10m synchronised platform event after collecting 316.08 points. — Bernama
