KUALA TERENGGANU, March 2 — National cyclist Mohd Azizulhasni Awang and silat exponent Siti Rahmah Mohamad Nasir were named as Terengganu’s Sportsman and Sportswoman for 2015/2016.

Azizulhasni, dubbed the Pocket Rocketman who has won the award five times in a row, however, was represented by his mother Selamiah Yong at the awards presentation ceremony at the Indoor Stadium, Gong Badak Sports Complex here tonight as he is currently undergoing training in Australia.

The two sporting stars each took home RM7,000, RM2,000 for their respective sporting associations, a trophy and a certificate of achievement.

Muhammad Azizi Shamsuddin (Muay Thai) and Nur Durriyah Damian (golf) were named the most promising athletes while Mohamad Azwar Bakar@Ibrahim and Siti Nor Athirah Mohd Anuar were honoured as the state’s top male and female paralympians.    

The prizes were given away by Terengganu Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Razif Abdul Rahman. — Bernama
