YANGON, Nov 22 — National football squad left winger, Mohd Syazwan Zainon, is determined to put his powerful shots to good use when Malaysia meet Vietnam in the second Group B match of the AFF Suzuki Cup tournament at the Thuwunna Stadium here tomorrow.
Mohd Syazwan said his contributing Malaysia’s first goal in the 3-2 victory over Cambodia on Sunday had fired him up to boost Harimau Malaysia for a second win.
"If the opportunity comes up, I will definitely try to help the squad get three points,” he told reporters at the end of a training session here today.
Asked on the foot injury picked up in the Cambodia game, the Kedah player said it was not serious and was prepared to be fielded against Vietnam.
Sharing the view of Mohd Syawan was national veteran striker Norshahrul Idlan Talaha who described Vietnam as no-easy team to beat.
Norshahrul, who netted one of the goals in Malaysia’s 4-2 win over Vietnam in the 2014 edition semi-finals, said Vietnam had power to counter attack especially their lethal striker Le Cong Vinh who is also the team captain.
"The style of fast attack is still the same for Vietnam except the line-up is different. Should look out for jersey number 10 (Nguyen Van Quyet), he can be very dangerous,” said Norshahrul who is appearing in his fourth AAF competition. — Bernama
