KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 15 — Malaysia have climbed nine rungs in the latest International Football Federation (Fifa) world ranking to be in 158th place today.
The Harimau Malaysia squad, which remained in the 167th place since July after a six-rung climb following the Ocean Tour in June, accumulated a total of 158 points, an increase of 10 points from last month’s.
Malaysia are now in the companion of countries like Grenada (156), Barbados (157), Kuwait (159), and Aruba (160).
However, the Datuk Ong Kim Swee’s side are expected to lose points next month following their 1-3 defeat to 181st placed Indonesia in a friendly tie on September 6.
Malaysia were ranked 171 in January and February, 166 in March and 174 in April and May, 173 in June and 167 in July.
Among the Asean countries, the Philippines are top (125), followed by Thailand (135), Vietnam (141), Myanmar (153) and Singapore (155).
