Second Olympic medal in hand as mixed doubles pair into final

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 16 — Malaysia is set to get at least another silver medal in the Rio Olympics after mixed doubles pairing Chan Peng Soon and Goh Liu Ying won their semifinals match today.

The two defeated China's Xu Chen and Ma Jin in straight sets with a score of 21-12 and 21-19 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

They will meet Indonesia's Tontowi Ahmad and Liliyana Natsir, who cruised past China's Zhang Nan and Zhao Yunlei 21-16, 21-15 in the other semifinal.

Malaysia won its first Olympics silver medal after Pandelela Rinong and Cheong Jun

Hoong came in second in the women's synchronised 10m platform event last week.
