Sarawak beat Perak 3-2 at home

KUCHING, May 18 — Sarawak secured their second win in the Super League after a hard fought 3-2 win over Perak at Negeri Stadium here tonight.

The team of interim coach David Yusof opened the scoring in the 10th minute through Makeche Ndumba.

Perak equalised in the 25th minute from a goal scored by Mohamad Fazrul Hazli.

After the breather, Gilmar Jose Da Silva Filho put Sarawak in front when he headed in a cross ball in the 48th minute.

Elias Fernandes De Oliveira equalised for Perak from the penalty spot in the 70th minute.

Gilmar sealed the 3-2 victory for Sarawak with a header in the 80th minute.

When met after the match, coach David Yusof said he was happy with the win.

The team spirit and fitness has improved after two weeks intensive training.

Sarawak will play Perak in the second round on May 21.

David Yusof replaced Datuk K. Rajagobal whose contract was terminated by the Football Association of Sarawak (FAS) following a string of poor results.
