KUALA LUMPUR, May 1 — The FA Cup final on May 14 will see a clash between 2015 Super League champions, Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) and Premier League team, PKNS FC after they won their second semi-final matches tonight.

JDT, under head coach Mario Gomez, beat Kedah 3-1 to advance with a 4-3 aggregate in a stiff contest at Tan Sri Hassan Yunos Stadium, Larkin.

PKNS FC, coached by E. Elavarasan, beat Perak 2-1, also with a 4-3 aggregate, in an away match at Ipoh Stadium, Perak.

Playing at home, the Southern Tigers scored the first goal via Pereyra Diaz in the 24th minute taking advantage of Kedah’s careless defence.

The second half saw JDT playing more energetically to increase the score in the 53rd minute via Juan Martin Lucero.

Kedah got their goal through Ahmad Fakri Saarani in the 67th minute.

Kedah’s euphoria was not for long when Diaz once again became a thorn in the side by scoring JDT’s third goal in the 90th minute.

In Ipoh, Perak’s hope of ending an 11-year wait to advance to the FA Cup final was destroyed when they lost 1-2 to PKNS FC.

The match was also witnessed by the Sultan of Perak Sultan Nazrin Shah and 27,000 spectators.

PKNS shocked the hosts when they scored in the seventh minute via their imported player, Matias Nicolas Hadwa.

‘The Bos Gaurus’ equalised a minute into the second half via Nazirul Naim Che Hashim.

But the 1-1 score did not last long when Juan Manuel Corbelli headed the ball into the Perak’s goal mouth in the 68th minute ensuring a 2-1 win for PKNS.
