KUALA LUMPUR, March 4 — Malaysia have qualified for the finals of the Thomas and Uber Cups which will be held simultaneously in Kunshan, China from May 15-22.

Although both the men and women's squads failed to qualify for the two finals on merit at the Badminton Asia Team Championships in Hyderabad, India last month, they qualified by virtue of the latest world rankings issued by the

Badminton World Federation today.

The BATC was the qualifying tournament for the finals of the Thomas Cup and Uber Cup.

Based on the latest rankings, the men's squad are in sixth place and the women's 10th.

List of qualifiers — Thomas Cup: Japan (defending champions), China (host), India, Indonesia, South Korea, MALAYSIA, Denmark, Germany, England, France, Mexico, New Zealand, South Africa, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Thailand.
