Pahang disappointed with FAM’s decision to deduct six points

KUANTAN, Nov 26 ― The Pahang Football Association are shocked and disappointed with the decision of the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) to deduct six points and deny them of the Super League runner-up spot.

Pahang FC Sdn Bhd chief Executive Officer Fahrizal Hassan said the action was believed to be following the issue of compensation and salary of former

Moroccan import player, Mohamed Borji but that should not have taken place as PBNP had ended his contract through the correct procedure.

“The proof in the ending of his service is the CO6 form which had been handed to the FAM and the termination of the contract was agreed upon by both sides without any condition and demand.

“He had also signed the form and he had agreed to the terms which ended his contract with the Pahang team. We have submitted the form to the FAM. Otherwise,

how could we sign another import player Matias Ruben Conti during the second transfer window,” he said when contacted today.

He said the action was very disappointing because it had also resulted in the Pahang side denied a place in the 2016 AFC Cup plus the possibility of being dropped to the Premier League next season if it failed to settle the compensation of RM526,000 to the player as soon as possible.

FAM Deputy President Datuk Seri Apandi Hamzah, prior to this, announced that Selangor had automatically qualified for the AFC Cup next season after Pahang who are the Super League runner up, were found guilty by the International Football Federation (FIFA) over the case.

Six points were deducted from Pahang which simultaneously placed it on the third rung of the 2015 Super League table.

Fahrizal said the association was now waiting for an explanation from the FAM on whether the form had been submitted to FIFA or not.

“We are also shocked at the amount demanded by Mohamed Borji whilst an agreement had been reached at that time,” he said. ― Bernama
